Chris and CeCe Elliott had heard about my second company through an ad in a Network Marketing magazine. They called the 800# a few times with no call back. So Chris being the investigative person that he is went looking on the internet for the company. He found it. He signed up to get information on the company website and that very night went on to the company’s webcast. I was the lucky presenter that night and Chris and CeCe listened in. He shared in the room that he did not have an enroller. The company President called Chris and spoke with him briefly. Upon speaking with Chris the President called and told me to call Chris and if we thought we could work together then to enroll him. This was my first company referral as a leader.
Chris and CeCe were very green to Network Marketing but ready to get going! That day in June they joined me in business! The next month the company was hosting a “Super Saturday” about a 7 hour drive from their home in Lake Tahoe. They wanted to go down and evaluate the company. They were going to go and see if it passed their test. Keep in mind that they both were in law enforcement and Chris worked specifically with the California Attorney Generals office. So if it passed their test that was a good thing! 
Another really important thing to know was that they both were undercover officers. So if you have ever been to a Super Saturday meeting you know that everyone wants to take pictures. There was a guy there that was busy taking pictures of the participants and CeCe in no uncertain terms told him that they could not have their pictures taken because they were undercover officers. Again I want to set up the stage for you! We had spoke many times prior to this event and they were very excited about going!
Now keep in mind I was not in attendance as it was about 3000 miles from my home in Kansas City so I was counting on second hand reports to keep me up to date! I was also expecting my enroller to really help them feel welcomed as well as a good friend of mine in the business. Of course I expected the Company President to put on a great event! So I get a call about 12:30pm PST (2:30 pm CST) it was a call on speaker phone by the President, my enroller and my friend in the business. They are telling me that it was not going well with Chris and CeCe. They had told me the story about the fact that they did not want to be in pictures. They said Chris did not say two words during the morning event and that he sat in his chair stoned faced showing no expressions. I should not say “No” as they said he had this look of “I am going to kill you”! They all were sharing their regret with me. They were sorry that they did not do a better job with them and that to expect them to simply leave the business.
Now I got off the call abit confused. I could not imagine what could have happened to make them feel the way they were feeling as they were excited on the last call I had with them. Have you ever gotten a call like that from your upline? Well a few minutes go by and my cell phone rings. It’s Chris and CeCe… They were calling all EXCITED about the event! They were telling me every detail and that they were going to build this business BIG TIME! They totally got it! They were calling to thank me for encouraging them to go. Now I am sitting on the other end thinking to myself are they at the same event? Is it possible that Chris could have that much of a “Poker Face” that these three leaders could totally misread them? Was it really possible?
That was in July 2003 and Chris and CeCe have been my business partners ever since!
